Competitive for Longer
General characteristics of Yokohama ADVAN motorsport tyres are less performance loss with additional heat cycles, meaning the tyre stays competitive for longer, race after race, compared with new tyre performance. The tyres are heat resistant and durable. Accidental lock-ups don't damage the tyre allowing competitors to finish the race.
ADVAN A050 R-SPEC
For Race, Lap-Dash, Supersprint, Hillclimb and Gymkhana.
During cornering the contact patch load centreline shifts towards the outside edge of the tyre. This shift has been minimised with the A050, when compared with the A048, to provide greater control and linear steering feedback. Even heat distribution is crucial in race tyres. The tread pattern of the A050 has been optimised to improve the tread block nose and shoulder heat distribution. Centre nose heat has been accelerated while shoulders generate less heat. This provides improved control over performance deterioration even at high temperatures. Instead of the sharp-edged tread grooves of the A048, the A050 has grooves with rounded groove edges, laid out in continuous lines. These rounded grooves help disperse the load input from the road surface, which prolongs the life of the tyre.
The A050's stable and linear steering characteristics come in part from its high rigidity bead wire, which links the tyre
carcass to the wheel, it squeezes the rim tightly and helps reduce energy loss when cornering, braking or accelerating. A rule of thumb for setting this tyre is 32 - 34 psi hot and above 60 degrees tread block temperature with less than 10% variation across the tyre. Your Yokohama Motorsport Dealer can offer expertise on achieving this.
ADVAN A048 R-SPEC

ADVAN A048 tyres won the gruelling Bathurst 12 Hour production car race. For years they've brought close racing
to the Australian V8 Ute series, Porsche 944 Challenge and Improved Production Racing. The A048 is an economical choice available in a wide range of sizes. It's suitable for circuit racing and road events.
Motorsport Tyre User Information
Yokohama ADVAN Motorsports tyres are manufactured solely for competition. Although some of the models can be used on public roads, the tyres are produced with specially designed patterns and compounds, and they are not suitable for public road use. Yokohama recommends using Yokohama ADVAN motorsports tyres only for the intended uses for each pattern, and please remember such tyres are made for competition and therefore carry no warranty.
Keep your tyres away from direct sunlight and locations with high temperature, high moisture, heavy electrical machinery, welders etc. Tyres should be preferably be stored in a cool, dry and dark room with a controlled environment.
Motorsports tyres require special care when being mounted, as the bead must seat perfectly onto the rim without causing any damage. Wheels should be high quality and checked for damage or rust before mounting as such items may result in a poor fit that is not airtight. In order to assure that there is no damage to the bead area, you should always have your tyre mounted by a Yokohama Motorsport Dealer that knows how to handle tyres made for competition. You should always use a mounting machine when changing a tyre to prevent unnecessary damage to the tyre or wheels. You should always use a safety cage when inflating tyres. Failure to do so may result in serious injury. Do not inflate to more than 40 psi (275 kPa).
You should never over-inflate or under-inflate a tyre as this may cause severe damage to the tyres and/or rims when accelerating, braking or cornering. Never use tyres with under 19psi (13o kPa). Remember that the proper pressure depends on the type of race, road surface conditions and driver's needs.
