About World Time Attack 2010

See the fastest time attack cars from Japan and USA compete against Australia’s best at Eastern Creek Raceway. Yokohama ADVAN brings the World Time Attack Challenge to Sydney. With wild modifications and high horsepower, GTRs, WRXs, Evos, RX7s and other models will come close to V8 Supercar times on semi-slick tyres.

Up to 80 time attack cars will compete against the clock in 3 classes ranging from Pro Class, with overseas competitors, to Club Sprint Class featuring local road-registered cars.

The event is a massive car festival with drift racing each day, a huge trade stand alley of performance parts, a car show and much more.

About this Event

Superlap is an event for modified street cars more than race cars. Most belong to the JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) or Sport Compact tuning scene. Cars race against the clock, so one competitor in each class can be crowned the fastest. The March 2009 event was built on the success of the first event in July 2008. The event, once again, attracted an impressive number of high powered Nissan GTRs, Subaru WRXs and Mitsubishi Evos along with professional trade stands displaying the latest tuning hardware.

Yokohama's held the naming rights with their motorsport and flagship road tyre brand, ADVAN (Which now covers wheels too). The event was also the debut of the ADVAN Hi Octane Racing Nissan R34 GTR which is set to be one of the World's fastest time attack cars (read about it here). Other major sponsors included Racer Industries, Project Mu, Hi Octane Racing and Turbosmart. The Cancer Council Australia was also involved with a "Racing for a cure" awareness program.

With new classes, more race cars and bigger focus on spectators, Superlap was, once again, the best motorsport event of its kind in the country, and even the world.

In 2009 the top places in Pro Class and Outright were won on the ADVAN A050 R-spec race tyre which is available in softer compounds. Read more about this tyre here
